Mi primer contacto con el soul fue a finales de los noventa, gracias a los recopilatorios de la Kent y las primeras allnighters del Cool Club en el Charcolor. Desde entonces no he parado de coleccionar discos y de pincharlos por toda la Península y parte de Europa. He sido residente del Afrodisia y Boogaclub de Granada entre 2005 y 2011. En la actualidad pincho en Madrid en el Marula Café, Tempo Club, Café Berlín, El Junco o El Intruso, y he viajado con mi maleta de discos por sitios como París, Hamburgo, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Amberes o Estrasburgo. También he tenido la suerte de participar como DJ en festivales de la talla de Jazzaldia, Cultura Inquieta o Imágina Funk. Además de mi labor como pinchadiscos, he realizado durante años el programa de radio Sound Dimension, me encargo de escribir sobre música negra para la web Clubbingspain.com y soy el batería de Al Supersonic & The Teenagers. Para mi es un auténtico placer formar parte del
cartel del Movin’ On, sin duda uno de los mejores eventos de soul a nivel europeo. Llevaré preparada especialmente para la ocasión una sesión en la que podréis escuchar modern soul, funk, rare grooves y soulful disco.
My first contact with the soul scene was in the late 90s, around the classic Kent compilations and the first Cool Club allnighters at Charcolor. Since then, I haven’t stopped collecting records and playing it all over Spain and parts of Europe. I’ve been DJ resident at Aphrodisia and Boogaclub (Granada) between 2005 and 2011. Nowadays I play my selections at the Marula Cafe Madrid, Tempo Club, Cafe Berlin, El Junco, or The Intruder. I’ve traveled with my suitcase to Paris, Hamburg, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Antwerp or Strasbourg, and I’ve been happy to participate too behind the desks at important festivals as Jazzaldia, Cultura Inquieta or Imagina Funk. In addition to my task as a DJ, I’ve directed the Sound Dimension radio show over years, apart from regular contributions writing about black music for Clubbingspain.com or playing drums with Al Supersonic & The Teenagers. Now it’s a real pleasure to take part in this Movin’ On line up, for me one of the best
european soul clubs. I’ll prepare an accurate selection specially for you, where you’ll find a mix of modern soul, funk, rare grooves & soulful disco music.

Hola a todos, me llamo Alfredo, y algunos de los asistentes del Movin On ya me conocerán por haber visitado vuestro soul weekender en varias ocasiones. A los que no me conocen, pues nada, soy un apasionado de la música y la cultura soul entre otras muchas cosas, lo cual me llevó a militar con Al Supersonic and The Teenagers, donde toco la guitarra y canto, lo cual a su vez, me ha empujado a poner discos de vez en cuando aquí, allá y más para allá con la excusa de la banda. Co-desorganizador de algunos eventos en Granada y artillero en la Corner Soul Crew, pero sobre todo fan fanático de esta cosa llamada northern soul o rare soul. Mis gustos oscilan entre los sonidos de Tennessee y Alabama, Muscles Shoals, Hi Records, SS7, eso que llaman pollo frito, x-over, midtempos furiosos… 70s, Ovide, de todo un poco pero música para la guerra en definitiva… Muy buenos recuerdos de Barcelona, grandes momentos en la pista y en los baños, y sobre todo
mucho cariño y mucho respeto a este weekender y a sus regulars y a esas brutales Saturday Soul Sessions. Gracias por contar conmigo para esta ocasión, donde voy acompañado además de dos grandes amigos y dos de los dj’s que más me gustan e influencian de España. Contando ya las horas para ver esa hecatombe de alitas, pechugas y soul. ¡Deseando ver a la familia catalana como pollos sin cabeza!
Hello everybody, my name is Alfredo, and some Movin On regulars will know my face after having visited your soul weekender often. For those who not, I can introduce myself as a passionate about music and soul culture among many other things, which led me to join Al Supersonic & The Teenagers, the band where I sing & play guitar. All this allowed me to play records from time to time, here, there and over there as a good excuse.
As an event des-organizer in Granada and ‘scorer’ in the Corner Soul Crew, I declare myself chiefly fan of that thing called Northern Soul or rare soul. My taste range between the Tennesse & Alabama sounds, Muscle Shoals, Hi Records, SS7, or what they call fried chicken, x-over, furious midtempos… 70s, Ovide, a bit of everything, ‘war’ music definitely. Very nice memories from Barcelona, great moments on the floor and inside the bathroom, and first of all, lots of affection and respect for this weekender, the regulars and the terrific Saturday Soul Sessions. Many thanks for having me this time, where I’ll be glad to share the desks with two great friends and favourite DJs who have more influenced me in Spain. Starting the countdown to enjoy that hecatomb of wings, fillets and soul. Wishing to see the Catalan family around like headless chickens!

Coleccionista de Soul de todas las épocas, es uno de los fundadores de la mítica Sociedad Soul de Madrid, organizadora del Magic Soul Weekend, fin de semana dedicado al Norhern y Rare Soul, que este año celebra su décimo aniversario. David fue igualmente uno de los responsables y DJ residente del Club S.M.A.R.T. Entre otros eventos especializados, ha participado como DJ en weekenders como Soul 4 Real (Bilbao), Black Talk (Valencia) o S.O.U.L. (Luanco, Asturias). A los del Movin’On nos dedica en abril un top 10 increíble y una maleta enterita a la altura.
As an all time soul music collector, David was co-founder of the mythic Sociedad Soul de Madrid, heart of the Magic Soul weekend, a Northern & Rare soul event who will celebrate the 10th anniversary this year. Our guest was also organizer and resident DJ at the S.M.A.R.T classic r’n’b club, and has participated in the main soul weekenders all over the country as Soul 4 Real (Bilbao), Black Talk (Valencia), S.O.U.L (Luanco, Asturias). For all the Movin’on crew, he bring us here an incredible top 10 in advance of a unstoppable chain of monster tunes.
